There is an exciting opening for a Trust Registrar in the vascular surgery unit at Northampton General Hospital. NGH is the arterial centre for Northamptonshire and provides a comprehensive range of vascular, endovascular and access services for the county.
This post is suited to a person of ST3 level and above who would like further training and opportunities in vascular surgery to increase their experience in operative and endovascular surgery, and would be ideal for a candidate wishing to apply for Speciality Training numbers in vascular or general surgery. From an organisational perspective the post is a service post but with emphasis on clinical, surgical and endovascular training. There are opportunities for audit and research for interested candidates. There is some flexibility to tailor the post to the individual’s training requirements.
Applicants are expected to also have some experience in emergency general surgery as they will participate in the General Surgery Specialist Registrar full shift rota comprising of 12 registrar grades.
The post is available from 09/12/2019.
The contract is a fixed term post for 8 months in the first instance with extension possible depending on satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will have MRCS.
