Clinical Audit and Effectiveness Facilitator

Band 5 Full time permanent post

The Clinical Audit and Effectiveness Team are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with a good basic understanding of the role of clinical audit and effectiveness in a health care setting.

The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level or equivalent, with experience of evaluating service delivery against recognised standards, preferably in a clinical setting. A clinical background whilst an asset, is not essential although an understanding of medical terminology would be useful. Similarly an interest and/or understanding of the principles of quality improvement and change management would be useful.

The other key attributes include:

  • Sound IT skills in use of excel, word, powerpoint and outlook
  • The ability to enter data into national databases.
  • Excellent communication skills will be required as you will be regularly conveying potentially complex information in an easily understood way to small and large groups of staff.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting and facilitating a Trust wide clinical audit programme. This involves working on clinical audit improvement projects, maintaining related information on our database, analysing data from a variety of sources, report writing and development of appropriate clinical audit tools.

You must be willing to learn new skills as the NHS is constantly evolving to meet new challenges, whilst maintaining a service-based approach to staff, patients and regulators. This will involve working effectively on own initiative and be a strong team player.

The successful candidate will also be involved in working with senior clinical and managerial staff and will be one of our Divisional liaison leads.

Ideally you should have an understanding of quality improvement, clinical effectiveness, clinical audit and patient outcome work, although if you can demonstrate experience in a comparable role outside the NHS we would very much encourage you to apply.

To deliver best possible care for our patients:

  • We put patient safety above all else
  • We aspire to excellence
  • We reflect, we learn, we improve
  • We respect and support each other
