An exciting opportunity has arisen at NGH for an experienced, high calibre candidate with a strong background and a proven track-record in managing services and leading people, to manage operations in the NGH Cellular Pathology dept.

The successful candidate will assume the operational responsibility for a UKAs ISO 15189 accredited Cellular Pathology service and ensure the department continues to deliver a high quality timely and effective service, where patient safety is the key driver.

There will be a responsibility to ensure the department continues to support faster diagnostic cancer targets within the Trust.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who enjoys working in a busy complex environment with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve tight deadlines.

The role will require a high level of flexibility and competency in organising the multiple demands of this role. The successful candidate will to be able to align their values with those of the Pathology department and the wider organisation which are to respect and support each other. They will have the ability to delegate effectively and to work as part of a  team with a will-do attitude.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
